Wordless Wednesday - Thornton Le Dale
When we were in Yorkshire recently we visited the lovely little village of Thornton-le-Dale, with it's historic old buildings and scenic riverside houses. This is the doorway of one of the the thatched cottages ....
...and it's pictured again below in its pretty garden setting.
The villagers were holding a scarecrow competition, and there were some incredibly inventive scarecrows, including one in a rowing boat on the river, and one dressed as an Olympic cyclist on a bicycle. The photo below shows "Mister Bit" the decorator scarecrow, who has clearly "missed a bit" of his painting!
